Chapter 12, What’s Next?: Use the following Suggestions to Continue pp. 400-401 I’ve always believed that journaling is a tedious chore. However, I tend to focus and remember negative events rather than positive. Therefore, I intend to start developing daily journal entries. Instead of recording all the bad events that I experience on a daily basis, I will focus more on the positives. I will also include little things such as gestures of kindness, something new I learned, and what I want to learn the following day. Furthermore, the article mentions the use of Discovery and Intention Statements learned in Chapter 5 to develop a more meaningful experience and habit. Firstly, the splendid quote explaining the difference between an enjoyable career and work: “If you enjoy what you do, you’ll never work another day in your life.” Hopefully, this will apply to me in the future. However, I do realize that more often than not, this will not be the case. Although, it doesn’t hurt to be wishful. I intend to attempt this goal with the mindset of achieving it. Additionally, the article summarizes multiple pathways that can lead to a career. The topic that caught my attention was the idea pursuing an internship, field placement, or volunteer position to enhance my field experience. If possible, I will look for the mentioned opportunities during summer break. This also ties in to the aspect of getting a part-time job in my career field. This may or may not be achievable depending on circumstances, but will serve as an enhancer towards my career.
