Chapter thirteen provides an overview of emotion, stress, and health. Ultimately the book states that emotion can offer both pleasant and unpleasant feelings. There are various signs of emotions but none more obvious than the face. (Wade, Tavris, & Garry) The face is the clearest assessment on how somebody is feeling. In fact, according to Paul Ekman and his colleagues, the face contains seven types of expressions: “anger, happiness, fear, surprise, disgust, sadness, and contempt”. (Wade, Tavris, & Garry) The 80 muscles that are located in out face can also allow us to recognize when someone is showing fake emotions. Our facial reactions come directly from our brain which is why “facial expressions reflect our internal feelings”. (Wade, Tavris,
