Charlie Gordon was a man with a disability which include that he wasn't smart as the other people. Also, he has this disability were he couldn't write the right way and he didn't have imagination, he just simply can't think about anything.Therefore people used to make fun of him because he was different and used to do silly stuffs. But he was just being himself and because of his problem he couldn't notice when people were laughing at him or with him for him was the same.Charlie used to call them “friends” when in reality they were fake , they used to just laugh at him and get him drunk so he can do silly things they used Charlie for entertainment. Unlike after the operation he was irritated and he didn't want to talk to nobody and he was worry because he knew that he was going to end up like Algernon dead.“Just leave me alone. I'm not myself. He was one of the normal human,responsible, knowledgeable. Even that Charlie had all this magnificent things after the surgery the most important to thing which is essential for life is live and he was gonna lose the opportunity he had because of the surgery. He was going to be thankful to the doctor, laboratory and everybody in general and most important to Algernon who give his life for the experiment but he wouldn't believe that all this was worth it because at the end of the day he was happy just how he was and he had many people who love him very much. He had so many love to give and he have a have a work and his life isn't perfect but is happy and he has an entire life to build because there is many people who have worst disabilities that they can't even express themselves and they have to do everything for them.
