In the book “Uglies” by Scott Westerfeld, the main character is met by a secondary character named David. I would like to have David as a friend because he proves to be caring and nonjudgemental throughout the book. David is also very good at recognizing when somebody feels upset, and I think a friend like that would be very good for me. He’s also good at giving space, when he knows that somebody feels upset and is able to that while also being comforting and offering kind words. David has also grown up away from any cities, so he is untouched by the need for perfection. I think this would make him a perfect friend because his thoughts wouldn’t be clouded with vanity, unlike the majority of the population in the setting of this book. He also
