In the book, Downriver, I chose the character and narrator as my favorite character. Jessie stood out to me because her thoughts and feeling were expressed throughout the book allowing the reader to know her better than the other characters. She is a young teenage girl looking for her place in the world. She has lost her mom and her dad has remarried leaving her a bit lost. She makes the best of her situation and finds friends during the adventure.
