Often times throughout society a person that suffers from a disability whether it is mental or psychical experience negligence and alienation from their peers and society,although this is no way acceptable behavior it is something that many people have to endure every day.In A Brave New World by Barbra Kingsolver, this is shown through the alienation and exile of John Smith. Through all of the experiences John realizes that it is not worth trying to conform to this society and decides to instead exclude himself “The savage had chosen his hermitage the old lighthouse which stood on the crest of a hill..”(167),”For the reason he why he had chosen the lighthouse had become instantly a reason for going somewhere else”(167)
