Love is the most powerful but invisible emotion that every man and woman seek for their entire lives, but “love isn’t something you find. Love is something that finds you.”-(Loretta Young) In the novel Something Wicked This Way by Ray Bradbury,, the main characters are Jim Nightshade and William Holloway who are best friends living in adjacent houses in Green Town, Illinois. Their uncompetitive and unconditional love for each other secured their friendship until the nefarious carnival came into town. After the appearance of the carnival, Jim desired the carnival over his friendship with Will. Jim is usually the one to be “ducking, weaving, bouncing away from the knockout which must inevitably come” while Will is “putting a bandage on his latest scratch.” (Bradbury 18) Will has been always cautious about the cause and effect of everything while Jim goes after anything his heart desires. One example from the novel is when Will and Jim argued ““No, don’t let him!” Will cried… “No! It’s all right!” “Jim!” “Will, yes, it’s okay!””(111) To put into context, Will warned the wicked Mr. Dark to not turn on the electric chair, but Jim wanted for Electrico to come alive, so that he could ride the carousel. Will knew that Jim would turn into someone other than the Jim Nightshade that he loved and cared
