Character Analysis: Unwind

When I first started the book, Unwind, my first reaction was confusion, why this kid named Connor, wanted to run away. I then found out that in the beginning of the book, his parents decided to unwind him. To be unwound was like dying for the exception of all his organs which could be used as transplants to help others live, so it was like living in another person. Later on in the story, I began to understand why he and Risa, a character in which was also being unwound, fled their town to run away. Before the end of the book, they found shelter, where they could stay with other unwinds until they turn 18, the age of which they could decide for themselves.
