After completing the character strengths survey, the results based on personal answers had concluded three strengths. Honesty, Perseverance and Love. In this paper, I will explain the importance of Honesty, Perseverance and Love in different aspects of an individuals life, as well as connect it to positive psychology and social psychology.

The top three results of the survey, concluded in Honesty, Perseverance and Love. Honesty defined as “Speaking the truth but more broadly presenting oneself in a genuine way and acting in a sincere way; being without pretense; taking responsibility for one's feelings and actions.” Perseverance as, “Finishing what one starts; persevering in a course of action in spite of obstacles; “getting it out the door”; taking pleasure in completing tasks.” And lastly Love as, “Valuing close relations with others, in particular those in which sharing & caring are reciprocated; being close to people.” Before and after completing the character strengths survey, the definitions of Honesty, Perseverance and Love did not differ as these definitions stood …show more content…
According to No Bullying, “Perseverance is not limited to any social class, race or gender.” Before the expansion of Harry Potter. there is a history behind J.K. Rowling. Her real name is Joanne Rowling. According to her website, “The use of a pen name was suggested by her publisher, Barry Cunningham. He thought that young boys might be wary of a book written by a woman, so Joanne chose ‘K’, for ‘Kathleen’, the name of her paternal grandmother.” J.K. Rowling, a perfect example of perseverance. Even when she had just lost her mother, and struggling to rise her daughter with no money and divorced, she persevered. She wrote her wrote her stories in her apartment with rejection and rejection. She was finally able to get a yes, when she changed her name; pen name. It is obvious that her name change was a socially psychological. Because she was rejected so many times for her stories in her time (women were looked down upon for being writers) she had to get herself a pen name in order for her to preserve. Her Harry Potter books expanded after her pen name. In terms of positive psychology, Rowling had surpassed her standard of living a poor life. She was able to push past all odds and exceeded her expectations of not only hers but others who looked down on her as a female
