In a book called The Hobbit, J.R.R Tolkien Made a lot of characters with different traits. Most of the character’s traits are positive or negative light. Also at this point I think intelligence is more important.

Positive character traits are basically happy traits. J.R.R. Tolkien added a lot of positive traits in his characters. For example, the main character (Bilbo Baggins) is split up into two families. Took side( which is his mother’s side ) has mostly positive traits and not as much respectful while the Baggins side( which is his father’s side ) has mostly negative traits but respectful. One of the best positive traits Bilbo Baggins has is he loves to adventure and is very active. For example, a text states, “ That was, of course, absurd, but certainly there was still something not entirely hobbit like about them, and once in a while members of the Took clan would go and have adventures.” J.R.R. Tolkien added a positive trait on Bilbo’s mother’s side which gives Bilbo’s some positive traits to share.

Tolkien also added some negative light traits to his characters. For example, Bilbo Baggins, he also has some negative light traits in his family. He is not active and he hates going on adventures. For example a text states, “... they never had any adventure or did anything unexpected:....” Bilbo Baggins father’s side is not active and has never gone on any unexpected journey, so basically J.R.R Tolkien has given Bilbo Baggins some negative light traits not just all positive
