In Cuba at the time they did not have copyrights for anything. This famous picture was eventually taken to Europe by Giangiacomo Feltrinelli. It was then sent to Italy where it was posted on many magazines. Since there were no copyrights this picture has been used in many different advertisements, cigarettes, shirts, magazines, and posters. In two thousand and one Alberto sued red bull for using the famous photograph. His daughter is still trying to fight this battle to this day. Alberto Korda referred to the photograph as heroic Guerrilla. Many see it as it represents change. Che whole focus was he wanted change. He wanted everyone to be treated equally. While he might not have done it the right way, he felt that was the only way to get the change that was needed.
