All’s Well That Ends Well...

I never pictured myself as a cheerleader. Even though my best friend, Heaven, was on the squad, it was something I never had any interest in. When information for tryouts came out, the pressure from my teachers and friends began to get to me.
My best friend was a cheerleader the previous year and she was planning on trying out again. The only problem was that she did not have any friends on the cheer team.
I could see the desperation in her eyes when she asked “Avey, can you please, please, please tryout for cheer with me?” For a moment I just looked at her with a blank expression across my face.

Then out of nowhere I heard Ms.Cornelius say “OH MY GOD!!! That would be the cutest thing ever!”
That is when they both started going on and on about how adorable a short bear in a tutu would be. I tried tuning them out with my own thoughts. I kept telling myself not to listen to them because they were doing everything to try to persuade me. It was getting really hard because I thought about how lonely my best friend would be without me. In addition to that Ms.Cornelius was my favorite teacher and deep inside I knew that she would be the best cheer coach ever. With no second thought I complied.
With slight hesitation I said “Okay I’ll do it!”
The day of tryouts had arrived. I could not believe that I agreed to do something so stupid. I started thinking about how foolish I would look in a bear costume. That is when went to Ms.Cornelius and told her that I was not planning on doing it anymore. Well that did not work for me. Moments later I found myself in the practice room preparing a dance for tryouts. I figured if I do a bad job I would not make it.
