On Monday 09/04/17 at 1536 hours I was dispatched to a physical domestic that occurred at 2025 C ST SE #B in the City of Auburn, King Co, WA. Dispatch advised the reporting person, Melissa Herrmann, stated her 15 year old son, Devae Brown, punched her several times in the back of the head after she slapped him for swearing at her. Dispatch advised Herrmann stated the argument and assault occurred because Brown was smoking marijuana.

I arrived and contacted Herrmann. Herrmann told me she came home at about 1500 hours and smelled marijuana in her residence. Herrmann said she confronted Brown about the smell, and took his cell phone and video game controller away as punishment. Herrmann said Brown became very upset, so she told him to leave the …show more content…
Herrmann said she and Brown were in the living room and Brown tried to get into her purse to get his cell phone back. Herrmann said Brown was very agitated and not acting like himself so she pushed Brown onto the couch, held him there, and told him to calm down. Herrmann said Brown stood up, said he was leaving, and walked toward the front door. Herrmann said she blocked Brown's path and told him she wanted to talk to him, and Brown said "Fuck you." to her.

Herrmann said she slapped Brown on the left side of his face with her open right hand because he disrespected her. Herrmann said Brown suddenly punched her on the back of the head several times. Herrmann said she could not remember how many times Brown punched her, but believed it was at least four times.

Herrmann showed Officer V. Martinez, who was onscene to assist, the back of her head and Officer Martinez said he could see a swollen lump where Herrmann claimed she was hit. I later looked at Herrmann's head and observed a lump about the diameter of a golf ball on the back of Herrmann's head.

I asked Herrmann if she needed medical aid, and she said she did not.

Because Brown punched Herrmann multiple times, there was probable cause
