Unfortunately, child labor is becoming very accepted in the work field. As stated in the article Effects of the Industrial Revolution, “In 1789, in Richard Arkwright’s new spinning factory, two-thirds of 1,150 factory workers were children.” Additionally, child labor is the cheapest labor of all and it is resulting in a cheap or deleterious environment for children. Children are paid 1/10 of what men are paid. They are nearly being paid the same as men, however, they have to put in twice the effort to complete the task given to them. Factory owners purposefully chose unskilled, innocent children to work, due to the low amount of money they have to pay for production. Children are working in unsanitary areas with long hours in factories. Child
