A lot of children long for autonomy, starting at a very young age and some of their parents grant them their independence. When it comes to young children, there is a such thing of having to much of it. Autonomy is a “ desire for personal control and independence”(Holden 2015). The term can be explained as a child having self-confidence, self-control and being allowed to do things on your own. It’s stated that parents grant their children's autonomy, allows their children to make decisions on what they want to eat and what they want to wear.
