Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year is a Holiday celebrated in the Chinese culture, which is celebrated every year. the day ranges from end of January to mid-February. It is one of the most significant celebrations in the Chinese culture. The Holiday consists of parties and great food, but also has deeper meaning. The day is meant to bring people good luck, and happiness throughout the year. It is also a day where you forgive and forget all grudges you have against people. There are several explanations to what the origin of Chinese New Year is. The tradition has been carried on from generation to generation, which shows that culture runs strong throughout China to this day, despite communist suppression.
Yangtze River
The Yangtze River is the longest river in China, it is 6,300 kilometers long. This river affects the Economy strongly; it serves as the main transportation and trade route. It is very important to the history and culture of China. People have used the river for irrigation, water, transportation, sanitation, industry, irrigation, boundary-marking and war. Unfortunately, the river can also flood and kill people. If communist party can control rivers successfully, they may be able to remain in power for a longer amount of time.
Himalaya Mountain Range
The Himalayas have served at a mountain barrier in particular it has prevented mixing of people from the India and its culture and people with the people and culture of China, this causes significant difference in languages and customs between these regions. The other countries see the Himalayas as permanent border; china has conquered some of these areas in the past and is determined to take back all former lands. After taking Tibet and attacking India, China is now seen as an aggressive and dangerous neighbor.
The Forbidden City
The Forbidden City in Beijing, China was the imperial Chinese palace from the Ming Dynasty that was built in the years 1406 to 1420. It now serves as museum which has an extensive collection of art. The palace shows traditional Chinese architecture, and has influenced architectural developments in Asia. The forbidden city was allowed to decay for decades; in the 1960 it didn’t even have side walls, it just consisted of old ruins. Today China realized that tourist would pay to see it, so they restored the main buildings. This shows how strong a force of prosperity is, even in a communist government.

The Ying Yang symbol is well known in China. It is a symbol that comes from I-Ching, which is the foundation of Chinese philosophy .The Ying Yang signs are two opposing forces. The Yang sign represents light, heaven, and the Ying sign represents the opposite dark, absorbing, passive. The two symbols influence the lives of people of china and the choices they make.
