Women’s Education

I started my first year of college at UC Davis. As many college students, having a good education is a big advantage to have a bright future. However in my old generation, women did not have the same opportunity to receive a quality education like my generation. Generation after generation, people thought that women were not good enough to work as men, instead they were originally raised to be housewife. This is related to the article, “From Balinghou to Jiulinghou, China’s Millennials Come of Age” by Robert L. Moore and Zhao Chang because in the old generation in China called Balinghou, parents restricted youth’s freedom and opinions, the same as women were restricted to received an education.
Parents has always being involved in my life. I was taught to follow their cultures and traditions. Afterwards they were the first people who educated me and told me that education has to be my first priority. However in my grandmother's generation, they had the opposite traditions. My both grandmothers, from Mexico and Japan, were part of the generation where women were supposed to do chores and raise children. My grandmother

The opposite as my grandmother’s generation, my generation is similar to Balinghou’s and Jiulinghou’s generation. As Moore and Chang said in their article about the both generation in China “parents still involve themselves very deeply in children’s lives” (p.38). Chinese parents are afraid that children will not success in their life so they want their children to be involved in any academic subjects and success in their future. This is true because in my generation I feel that my parents are really involved in my education and if I do not succeed in my life, they will be upset with me. However, generation to generation, parents have always being actively involved in children’s lives. Nowadays it is usual for womens to take their education
