Though they only existed for less than a century, the Yuan dynasty brought forth mammoth change that dynasties lasting far longer could only dream of. Not only did they extremely develop Chinese culture, but they established paper money to expand trade.
To begin, though China was under the Mongols’ foreign rule, religion continued to flourish. Since the Mongols were shamans tied to their land, they didn’t expect others to convert to a religion not existing in their part of the globe. Therefore, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Daoism continued to prosper without fearing being destroyed by Mongol rule.
