The Chinese were very influential on its surrounded and independent neighbors who at the time start creating states of their own during 200 B.C.E to 800 C.E. These neighbors includes Koreans, Vietnamese, and the Japanese who adopted some of the culture and way of life of the Chinese. These states were less small in size and population when compared to china when it comes to political and cultural domination. However, these three states along with others developed their own cultural identity independently. Even with this happening, these states adopted a little of the Chinese culture in the form of arts, painting, and architectural to mention a few. Vietnamese were known as Yue according to Chinese sources who had reach an advanced level of the Bronze Age civilization which include dipping the head of bronze arrow in poison which was instrument in hunting of large games which include elephants whose tusk was used for trade with China for iron. Trieu Da was the initial ruler of main Vietnam after the killing of all loyal Chinese Emperor, but this strive was filled with military battles. Nam Viet which is what Vietnam was known by at the time was eventually conquered by the Chinese Armies in 111 B.C.E. The Chinese took over and change and bring in as much as they can to Nam Viet which include the replacement of local nobility and Confucianism was introduced as the official ideology. The Chinese even brought and introduced their language as the official literary expression and their characters were use as the written form of the spoken language of the Vietnamese. The Chinese may have conquered Nam Viet in a sense, but the culture and changes that they bring into Nam Viet was very instrumental to the building of roads, harbors, and water ways. The Vietnamese were positively impacted by the Chinese art, music, and architecture, but the most beneficial was that of the indigenous culture. Evidence of anthropological, linguistic, and Archaeological were are all indications that North Asia people and the Korean people had the same ethical origin. However, Korean share no Linguistic relations to the Chinese. The Korean adopted technological elements from the Chinese which includes Iron and bronze technology. During the course of development and transition by the Han Dynasty and the emergence of the Three Kingdoms Periods, Chinese culture and influence was still a major part of Korean lives with Chinese as the as the language in both learning and the government. In 372, the Korean city of Koguryo received its first official introduction in the form of Buddhism from China. During these historic times were a lot of fighting and destruction of civilization, but the Chinese remains a culture that let the Korean borrowed its institutions and culture, and even had a foreign exchange program or as we know it for students to study in China.
