Jacques Cartier a French explorer reached the Cape of Hope in the South land; he encountered around forty to fifty boats of wild men who went on shore calling them to come on land. The locals were offering to trade their skin and therefore they danced and made signs of joy and showing desire for friendship. They exchanged the cheap skins for knives and other iron wares and a red hat for the captain and indicated they would be coming to trade again after trading even the skins they clothed themselves with (Jacques, 1993)

The natives were ingenious for they showed excellence of wit in the things they did. Their friendship would help natives for they would find their knowledge and crafts to be better in perfection and speed of execution and even end up respecting and obeying them. The use of good government would bring them to civilization and the true religion. The natives belief that there were many Gods called Montoac was far from the truth would be reformed easily. This meant they did not have an understanding of God to compare them to gods. The local Wiroans followed the explorers as they preached hoping to be partakers in the effects the missionaries expected. Many people requested to be prayed for to get healed as they doubted their native priests. When crop stated to wither due to drought and they thought it was as a result of displeasing the explorers’ they would go and ask the explorers to pray to the God of England. They promised to share their fruits if their corn was spared and became ripe. Whenever a strange disease, losses and anything that hurt them, the natives would come apologizing to them thinking they did not please
