Chris Mccandless Flaws In Into The Wild

I have been reading “Into the Wild” and the main character Chris McCandless, son of a wealthy parents that graduates from Emory University as a top student and athlete. McCandless had a easy life because his parents were wealthy, but I believe that Chris was tired of this because of his consent disagreements with his father. Most of his life he had to deal with his father's unfaithfulness to his mother by his dad continuing his relationship with his first wife, while being married to billie (chris’s mom) and fathering chris. This affected Chris a lot because he couldn’t tell anyone, so he decided to keep it to himself and it built up to a point of hate. Although Rifkin points out Chris’s good flaws and habits there was a problem, instead of embarking on a prestigious and profitable career, he chooses to give his …show more content…
For example, in the article “Why the teen brain is drawn to risk” it says that not every teen has break downs the reason for their action is because as a kid they had seen something or something was missing so there brain is drawn to the empty or seen thing. Most of Chris’s life he had to suffer things that no kid should have to go through at that age, so when he left everything behind him finally he had something to do not just worry about his problems. His purpose of leaving was to get away from his father's expectations of him and the lies of his most of time was spent doing things his father wanted not what he wanted, for the first time he did things on his own with no one there to tell him what to do. Not everyone had to go through what Chris had to go through his life was not easy so he had to keep it all locked inside of him so when he went to the wilderness he finally felt like he could let everything out, his thoughts and head was clear so he did not have to worry or stress about anything in his life
