Success is an accomplishment, it does not matter if the accomplishment is big or small if it feels like an achievement then that is success. Some people seem to think success is how others see the accomplishment. Success shouldn’t be given by anyone besides the person that is achieving the goal. Chris McCandless and Tim Treadwell both wants to get freed of their mainstream lives. And both know that what they are doing matters to them and do not care what others think of them. Both Chris McCandless and Tim Treadwell reach success because they are happy and at peace on their journeys.

Chris McCandless, known to be a smart, independent, brave, and sociable man. One of his friends said that instead of getting in trouble on his friday night he would give homeless people pizza. Chris had problems with his family, mainly with his dad that had a second family that really made Chris apset. He goes to the college that most people would dream to go to, $24,000 in his bank account, a car, he has set to have a steady life. One day Chris thinks that he wasn't actually living so he decides to drop everything he had and go on an adventure that most people would think is crazy and some thinking it is a suicide mission. After 100 days he notes in his in his book “DAY 100! MADE IT”(pg. 195). Even though Chris is at his weakest point and says that death is now a big threat he notes that he made it. He is happy that he knew he made it to day 100 all by himself. Just because Chris said that he is weak and hopes someone comes to get him. He probably knew that he is going to die anyway and accept that he can’t live much longer but he knew that he is going to die doing what he wants not doing what society wants him to do.
