Belief systems are a unified system of values that unite its followers into a single, moral community where good ethics are practiced. Ultimately, this transformation of cultures into morally sound communities have proven to impact a variety of aspects characteristic of societies, primarily in the belief systems of Christianity and Confucianism. Christianity was first founded in Judea, present day Israel, whereas Confucianism was founded in China. Both these belief systems have proven to instill morally correct codes in society. Through the practice of these belief systems, harmonious qualities arise amongst its followers as a result of the “comfortable environment” exhumed by people who follow ethical conduct. In the charitable and social aspects in society where cooperation plays an important role, Christianity and Confucianism create positive impacts that influence the entire society in a multitude of fashions.

The belief system of Christianity instills morally correct codes that fosters cooperative attitudes in its following which positively impacts the aspect of charity in those societies.Often, nations are reluctant to coordinate international charities and relief efforts due to foreign tensions. Ultimately, a global society without religious beliefs would be comprised primarily of citizens that hold nationalistic ideals that prevent them from organizing international charity efforts; Rather they opt for charitable acts within their own borders. Primarily, this is accomplished through the introduction of positive relationships that are paramount to the teachings of Confucianism. Specifically, these are outlined by the Five Relationships that read: ruler to ruled, father to son, older brother to younger brother, husband to wife, friend to friend. As a result of these teachings, an advantageous hierarchy of society is created where an experienced leadership can benefit the entire society with their wisdom.Often, in societies that lack such values, the younger, inexperienced population lack proper etiquette and fall subject to misguided and naive notions pertaining to the correct way to live their lives. Often occurring in the adolescent and younger population, the inexperienced members of society act rebelliously in the face of their wise elders and fail to adhere to their advice that would otherwise have led them on the right path. However, Confucianism creates a societal condition where teachings, such as Filial Piety that states that one must always respect their elders, are given greater importance and thus prevent the rebellious younger population from straying too far. Ultimately, the existence of a hierarchy with the elders sitting atop leads to a society where the youths adopt constructive, positive, and cooperative attitudes based upon the elder’s wisdom.
