Have you ever heard about Leukemia? Leukemia is a type of cancer that affects your white blood cells. Leukemia is a genetic disease that begins in the bone marrow. Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells anywhere in a body. Leukemia has two forms of this disease: acute and chronic leukemia. Acute leukemia moves very quickly, which is destroying the human’s immune system. Chronic leukemia moves really slow, which the immune system is not being destroyed that quickly. I will talk about how leukemia is a genetic disease and the background to it like the symptoms, treatments, and the risk of having it.

They are 5 major approaches to the treatment for Leukemia. The first one is the Introduction therapy, this therapy helps kills the Leukemia cells in the blood, also the bone marrow. This is called a Chemotherapy, it is a medicine to destroy the cancer cells. This medicine is sometimes is put into the blood, it is usually injected in the vein. Chemotherapy can be taken in many ways, For example: it can be taken by mouth, or mixed into a cream than it is rubbed on your skin and you can just take the shot. Having a Chemotherapy can cause side effect like nausea, vomiting (WebMD Chemotherapy). Second, they have the Interferon Therapy, which it is used to slow down the reproduction of Leukemia cells. Third, they have the Radiation Therapy. The Radiation Therapy helps kill the cancer cells. The fourth treatment is the Stem Cell Transplantation (SCT), is to enable the treatment with high dose of Chemotherapy with Radiation. At last, after having these treatments they have to do surgery. Having surgery will help remove an enlarge spleen or to install a venous access device, a large plastic tube (Health.com communites Leukemia Treatment). Completing the treatment can be both stressful and exciting. Even after the treatment ends they can find it hard that Leukemia may come back.
