Lidia Yuknavitch is a writer who has written many books however she is known for her memoir The Chronology of Water. The memoir focuses on various serious topics like human rights, bisexuality, love, self-love, hope, sadness, abuse, and violence. Misfit plays a pivotal role as she emphasis on this particular word throughout her TED talk. She begins to tell the audience why she relates to misfit so much. She describes misfit is someone who just does not fit in the typical crowd. It can be anyone; it just not limited to you or me. She narrates her life story like her fail marriages, a college dropout, escapes an abusive home, had done rehab, and been to jail twice. When she receive the mail telling her that she has won a trip to New York.

She felt that she did not deserve it because of all the way things have gone wrong. Who was she to go to New York and being imposter writer? She tells the audience that why she felt that she is a misfit. She could not ever live with how her daughter died the day she was born. She has spent a long time homeless, still, grieving the loss of her daughter and her experiences. She had a hard time fitting in the normals roles like wife, mother, daughter, scholar. These things just did not happen; it took time. The failures she encounters in her way later turn into something beautiful. She did write a memoir called " The Chronology of water." The trip to New York helped her even though it took time but she finally overcomes the shame gives to voice the story she wanted. She finishes her Ted talk with encouragement to all the misfits. The reason I have chosen this Ted talk is that I relate to because it took me four years to where I am now. My father death still haunts me and helps me as well. This sound so confusing however this Ted talk was excellent. I did not know what I was going into till I listen to the whole
