As the official student ambassadors of such a prestige’s University, Cicerones are considered to hold themselves at a high standard. Receptiveness and adaptability would be the most important characteristic to be successful as in ambassador. As a role model on campus, it is pertinent that you listen. An individual who is only willing to tell others what to do is not well rounded. It is vital to listen to your peers and set a good example for those around you. Whatever you do, your followers do. If you aren’t receptive to hear the individuals around you, chances are they won’t be receptive enough to respond or contribute to a common goal. As a Presidential Host, I am grateful to meet the individuals that keep this campus running including the President, Board of Trustees, Department Deans, Donors, and Supporters. Just like us they only want the best for the University. During my time in the President’s suite I engage in thoughtful conversations about how their works and contributions has helped the University thus far, providing them with a student perspective to brainstorm more innovative ideas for the future. Being able to thank these individuals at least once amongst the several they deserve brings joy to my heart. As a tour guide, I have the opportunity of personally sharing the love and greatness of this University with prospective students. The University of Florida has so much to offer and that is why I don’t think twice as serving as an ambassador and dedicating my time to making this campus bigger and better than it was yesterday.
