Hi Cosmin, thank you for responding to my post on cigarettes. Because smoking is addictive and hard to kick, the demand for cigarettes is highly inelastic. What I mean is, regardless of price increases there is only a small change in the quantity demanded. And for those who do smoke the number of cigarettes smoked is not highly sensitive to price.
