The Night Circus is a very good book. The main characters are Bailey and Celia. Bailey is a farm boy who wants to become the leader of the circus and Celia is the magician for the circus. There was a game going on throughout the whole book and the circus was basically a venue for a game that (we don’t find that out till the middle of the book) would cost both their players (Celia and Marco) their lives.
I think that the book was telling me not give up on your dreams. The whole book was written like the time it was set in the 18000’s and it had a magical dream-like aura. It made you feel like you could achieve anything if only you don’t give up on your dreams. When Bailey wanted to run away to the circus his family mocked him and told him he had to be a farmer for example bailey’s sister said “running away to the circus!!! That is the most absurd idea I have ever heard” but he followed his dream and became the manager of the circus. Erin Morgenstern was also trying to say (apart from not to give up on you dreams) was that no matter how bad the situation is you must always look at the good things in life and you will somehow get through it all for example when Tara burgess (one of the organisers of the circus) dies then an actor dressed as an angle, comes down and hovers above the grave.
I go to circus class so it didn’t change my idea of circus much. But my best friend Oscar says”ha! You go clown school” so his idea of circus obviously involves clowns and elephants
