“Civil Disobedience” Imagine living in a world where you completely disagree with a law or rule. Everyone in this world is required to obey this law, but your beliefs do not allow you to do the same. You can not carry on with being an obedient citizen so you break the rules. In the conclusion of breaking the laws, you have gotten into serious trouble. You are no longer living safe and in harmony. You are asking me if it is justifiable to break the rules in certain circumstances. I think in no circumstances should it be justifiable to break the rules or laws. First, going against the laws or rules may result in people getting involved in perilous situations. To continue, people may be left with repulsive reputations. Lastly, rules are rules for a reason; they should be obeyed not disobeyed. I urge you to put my reasons and thoughts into consideration. To begin with, going against the laws or rules may result in people getting involved in perilous situations. When someone breaks the law, the government is harsh about the consequences. There is no way to escape the future. People are swept away from their lives and are introduced to a different one. Their new lives are not what they expected. It is full of danger. The consequences of breaking the laws or rules are being left with ridiculous amounts of tickets to pay, time in jail, or even the death sentence. For example, in the play Antigone, Antigone had disobeyed the city’s law. She ended up being put away in a cave to be left alone to die. No one should be living in angst of the consequences. To carry on, people may be left with repulsive reputations. Being the person who has broken a law, this person may be viewed in a way that is not pleasant. Someone who has once had a perfect reputation would be left with a completely different one. They would be viewed as not trustworthy and dangerous when that is not the case at all. Their beliefs are what caused them to disobey the law. No one would want to be seen with the law-breaker. That is not something to be proud of. If the person went for a job interview, odds
