Socrates believes that civil disobedience is never morally legitimate. He says, “Or is it the opinion of one man—we should respect and fear above all others…. On the grounds if we don’t follow it, we shall seriously damage and maim that part of us which, is made better by what’s just but is destroyed by what’s unjust.” (pg.81) He tries to convince Crito on how doing an act of civil disobedience just hurts oneself in the long run and damages the integrity one has on being honest.
