What's more different than a cat and a dog? The North and the South during the civil war. There were political, economic and social differences that were evident. So evident that you could identify a side by just seeing a method of doing something. One side saw Abraham Lincoln as a threat and the other saw him a hero. One side found different ways of doing work while the other stayed faithful to what they always thought was right, no matter the cruelty they forced upon innocent people daily. One side didn't even believe that they were harming humans. The other side realized that they were wrong and cruel. These difference have led to wars and to the country that is America.

The south was agricultural and the land there was ideal for tobacco and cotton. The Industrial North was moving forward more and more rapidly. The growth of the railroads was rapid. Since the land was less favorable for large plantations, it became normal in all of the North to change to industry. The North even made inventions to help them work without slaves and still get the amount of work needed, done. This change in the North and the lack of change in the South is an example of differences.

The Social Differences between the north and south is the underground railroad, the abolition movement and Uncle Tom's Cabin. The abolition movement was a movement to abolish slavery. This was unfavorable in the South since most of their labor was completed by slaves. The Underground Railroad was apart of the abolition movement. The Underground Railroad is a series of secret safe houses and routes so that blacks could escape slave states and migrate to freed states where slavery was outlawed. These social differences showed each side how different they where and it showed that war was
