Chapter 13 of the book, Classroom Assessment, written by W. J. Popham, was titled: “Making sense out of standardized test scores”. The chapter focuses on how students are assessed based on standardized tests and scored on their performance through obtained knowledge. Standardized tests measure students’ achievement and how the monitor their progress on classroom information. Most standardized test are unbiased and inclusive because they want to make sure the test is equivalent for all students. These tests are to ensure to teachers that students understand and comprehend the material taught and master the required basic skills. Individual students’ test scores are interpreted in “absolute or relative terms”. The absolute term is determined
