Compare one of the programs we have studied to your current field placement. Refer to your text for characteristics of a high-quality program (found in chapter 2) and give one example and how it supports best practices in the early childhood classroom. In compare my current field placement of Mrs. Michele Lerner’s 3rd grade math and science class at Running Brook Elementary School to the program of Early Elementary/ Primary Grades discussed in Chapter 2 of the textbook on page 60. As stated in the text Running Brooks focuses on basic academic skills of math, science, reading, writing, social studies, art, etc. In Mrs. Leaners class her focus is in on Math and Science She does this by providing various methods to encourage learning through modeling, group discussions, independent work and games all in alignment with the states Common Core of Standards. Using these various methods to enhance her children’s need to learn through a high-quality program supports to me two of the ten creatia for best practices in the early class in the area of teaching and Curriculum.
