Describe what you expect your first contacts with the children/students to be like, contingent on your program‘s/school‘s expectation. You need certain rules and procedures for how children enter/exit the classroom, how children volunteer to talk, move around and help out, places for paperwork to come in and go out, plans for how to manage absent students and their missing work, seating charts, supply centers, everything. Students are expected to show respect to others (students and adults) through their words and actions. Students are expected to treat materials with respect as well. When difficulties occur, we will usually talk with students involved about what happened and why and how it could have been handled better in another way.
