Introduction
According to research school leaders need to disassemble personal perspectives to work with instead of in communities (FitzGerald & Militello, 2016). Meaning using the community as an extension of learning instead of only using classroom learning. Communities can provide real world application that students might not be able to experience within the four walls of a classroom. School improvement research provided insight into engaging all members of the school community including members outside the school environment such as business owners, community leaders, and other community members to help develop a strong foundation in today schools (Ice, Thapa, & Cohen, 2015). Schools are having a hard time meeting the vast amount of different learns within an average school day due to the limitations of funds and resources that the community could provide with the right partnerships (Hands, 2014).
Major Challenge The rural community that houses the Cory-Rawson School District has approximately 600 students enrolled in the k-12 building. The school sits in the middle of two equally small community that was consolidated 50 years ago due to financial savings for both communities. Student attendance would increase because they would not want to miss a learn opportunity and parents would be invested in the program and would not want students to miss class. Parental involvement would increase at every level including high school again because of vested interested and vested time and energy. Lastly, strong community partnerships would allow student achievement to take precedent in everyone's mind. Programs that are backed by influential individuals with a focus on children will develop a sense of pride and respect throughout the
