The character Claudius in Hamlet and Stefan in maleficent both show strong characteristics to fit the archetype the Villain. They both have greed, irrelevance and a hunger for power.
For instance both characters are are power hungry. Claudice is power hungry because he kills his brother and married his brother's wife just to become a king. This shows a hunger for power because You shouldn't hurt family and cheat on someone's wife to become a king. Stefan is power hungry because once he received the news that the king was dieing, he was so desperate to become king that he would do anything to become a leader. He then figures out that in order to become king he would have to hurt his friend. This leads him to let the power get to his head. This
