In the early 1930s, two bandits and their gang rampaged through Texas on a crime spree that lasted about 4 years. They robbed gas stations, kidnapped, and murdered police officers. This pair of criminals were so famous they made a movie about them. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were the most feared criminals in the southern United States in the 1930’s.
Bonnie Parker was born in Rowena, Texas. Her Father died when she was four years old and and her life before she met Clyde was lonely. Her mother was a seamstress. One of Bonnie’s favorite hobbies was to write poetry. She also liked taking pictures. When Bonnie was in High school, she met a boy named Roy, one of her classmates. In their second year of high school they dropped out and got married. They split up in 1929 but never divorced. Bonnie went to Dallas and lived with her mom. Bonnie worked as a waitress in Dallas. She felt lonely and impatient with her life.

In the early 1920s his family migrated south to Dallas. When his family got to Dallas, Clyde started getting in trouble right away. His first arrest was when he didn’t return his rental car on time. His second arrest was when he stole turkeys because his family couldn’t afford good food. Later, he cracked safes, robbed stores, and stole more cars. He got into so much trouble he got sent to Eastham prison farm in April, 1930. While he was in jail, he was so furious he killed his cellmate. Also he asked another cellmate to chop two of his toes off to avoid hard labor. He walked with a limp for the rest of his life. After his injury 6 days later, his mom got him.
