What are the organization's goals? How are they tied to its ethical principles?

The goals of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare Systems (CAVHS), provides a variety of services to United States veterans. “…anchor a broad spectrum of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services, ranging from disease prevention through primary care, to complex surgical procedures, to extended rehabilitative care” (www.littlerock.va.gov 2013). The hospital’s code of ethics and core values include integrity, respect, commitment, advocacy and excellence to all patients and their families, as well as each other on the staff. The pledge of the health care staff at the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare Systems is to provide the best quality care to veterans of diverse backgrounds and health care needs. The staff provides a committed duty to one another as well as its patients. The CAVHS has committed to providing exemplary health care management by taking personal and organizational responsibilities to earnestly uphold the VA mission. The CAVHS is partnered with the National Center for Ethics in Health Care (NCEHC) that serves with the purpose of promoting what is ethical in decision making and ethical health care practices. As stated by NCEHC (2014) “…including ethics-related decisions, actions, systems, processes, environment, and culture.
