The alchemist is a novel based off of connecting with the earth, overcoming fears, and fulfilling our own “ Personal legends” with its various universal themes. In Coelho’s literary piece, Santiago or as referred to “the boy” is on a quest to fulfill his destiny whilst making several stops along the way of his journey which allows him to meet multiple colorful people, such as a gypsy, a king, a maiden,etc. No matter how difficult his path may have gotten the inspirational people that he met along the way, including himself and nature push him forward to accomplish his goal in life and find himself. Soon after he leaves home with his flock, the boy begins having a repetitive dream which he decides to address while going into a small town where he encounters a gypsy who claims that “dreams are the language of god, when he speaks in our language, i can interpret what he said, but when he speaks in the language of the soul it's only you who can understand.” once Sebastian told her his dream she told him to do exactly what he dreamt, to go to Egypt in search of his treasure. Soon after, he met a man whom he would remember for the rest of his life; a king, someone who he would see a part of everywhere he goes. However, it wasn't until he arrived in africa that the conflict precisely begins. Punctually as he arrived, multiple complications happened. His new acquaintance took all of his currency, which lead to him working for a crystal merchant in exchange for food and some money. After working for the merchant for over a year and making enough money to buy a ticket home,
