The Negative Impact of the Cold War Whenever there is more than one world power, It will always result in conflict. Many conflicts, such as World War One, occurred as a result of multiple world powers. It is the imbalance of power that lead to two World Wars. The Cold War was a result of unfinished “business” at the end of World War Two. Not only were there two current world powers but they had completely different ideologies. Although the two countries never directly confronted each other, it still had a major impact on the world. The Cold War made the world less secure, safe, and stable because it increased military confidence, created resentment, and made peoples’ lives more difficult. The cold war increased military confidence on both sides of the war and made it more dangerous if a war erupted. Weapons quickly developed, confidence was boosted, and a big portion of human kind could be wiped out, because of such dangerous weapons like these. The new invention that erupted during the cold war era was the hydrogen (jones 63) and lithium bomb (64). The hydrogen and lithium bombs at the time could destroy vast areas of land.
