Many believe that Colin Kaepernick kneeling during the playing of the national anthem is a brave and patriotic stand against racial inequality. In pro side of the article “O’er the Ramparts” by Tim Wendel, Coach Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs stands behind Kaepernick stating, “The important thing Kaepernick and others have done is to keep it in the conversation.” In other words, he is saying that Kaepernick has brought back the almost forgotten racial injustice in America. It is understandable why many believe that his bravery is an outstanding representation of American patriotism and that has rightfully expressed his freedom.
