Although it may seem bizarre for a young girl to aspire to become an auto mechanic, that was my desire for many years of my life. I come from a family where college attendance is not a normal occurrence. Neither of my parents attended university. Growing up I worked with my father in his auto shop. I never dreamed that it would be possible for me to attend the University of Arkansas. Today I am a student at Arkansas and I feel very privileged to be pursuing a degree. My family continually makes sacrifices that allow me to attend college and I could not be more grateful. I am currently working on my Bachelor of Science in Education in Communication Disorders.

This chapter has not only helped me understand my profession more, but has given me an opportunity to work with other aspiring speech pathologists. I believe that passion both drives and inspires individuals to contribute exorbitant amounts of effort towards their jobs. My personality is very caring and passionate. I know these traits will help me as I continue through school and also in my career as a speech pathologist. My caring heart and high levels of passion for potential clients will help me to help the client succeed because I will be thoroughly invested in each therapy session. Job shadowing Kara gave me the passion and love for the profession. While school has not always been my strength, I am determined to complete my degree with flourish and high achievement. I am a hardworking and driven person. I will achieve my goals. Attending the graduate program at SCHOOL HERE will increase the knowledge I have about speech therapy and will help me develop into a hard working and successful speech therapist. I understand that being a speech-language pathologist entails more than merely education and I am ready to face the challenge
