Running has always been a part of my life. My dad has run since his teens competing in distance ranging from 800 meters to marathons and my mum has run with a local running club since I was a child. My personal running journey began in 2010 when I joined my school cross country team. We would train and race once a week, which I found really tough at the time, but also very enjoyable too. All these weekly races and trainings were all for Oakbank State Cross Country Championship. In primary school, I would finish in the 100+ position at Oakbank but nevertheless I still really loved running those races and the thrill of finishing them. When I started high school at Immanuel College, I once again chose to do cross country for the school. I compete for Hills District Athletics Club in races within South Australia, Brighton Secondary School in School events and South Australia in National events. Over the years, I have found that my strengths lie in cross country, road races, and middle distance athletic events. I have competed in the 800m, 1500m, 3000m and also Cross Country at nationals. My favourite national event would be the Cross Country championship because it has been my most successful competition and I really enjoy the challenge of the terrain in Cross Country. My personal best times over 800m, 1500m and 3000m are 2:19.1, 4:48.36, and 10:20.80 respectively. I currently train/compete for 16-18 hours per week consisting of; 8 running sessions (1-2 hours), 1 speed & technique session (2 hours), Strength, Core and Flexibility session (45 minutes per day) and 1 race every 2 weeks on average. I aim to try and take my running as far as possible and hopefully represent Australia one
