Unit 3: The UK as a Destination
In this report I will be going into detail about four different customer types; the customer types will be two inbound and two domestic customers.
In this section I will be writing about a couple from china to visit all of the capital cities in the UK for example London. This couple are inbound customers as they are coming from china to the UK.
Access To information:
For the couple access to information should be rather easy from leaflets to brochures they can access this information through travel agents in China or the UK; when coming to London a good easy way of accessing information is to get leaflets you can access these through hotels, restaurants/pubs and internet. They can visit websites through the internet about the UK these could be http://www.visitbritain.com/en/GB/
Accommodation:
The UK have a wide range of accommodation, this could be from a hotel in the middle of a city to a bedsit just outside the city in the countryside. The couple from china could experience a sweet hotel like The Hempel. The Hempel is two blocks away from London’s Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, which may be convenient for the couple.
Coworth Park have a range of suites in their mansion House, ranging from Four poster King-sized beds with under floor heating and wooden fires to Stable superior rooms that have a leather bed with a bathroom. Coworth Park is surrounded with bridle paths for long country walks.
Cost and Standards
The cost and standards of accommodation is important due to the Chinese culture. The Chinese culture is polite and respectful. As the Chinese culture is so pure when it comes to accommodation they expect good customer services, good value for money and high standards for example the Stable superior rooms that have a leather bed with a bathroom is a good value for money for £215.00 at a daily rate. Then there’s the four poster King-sized beds with under floor heating and wooden fires which is £845.00. The Hempel boutique hotel would be a good hotel as it has good standards and prices.
Transport
As the couple want to visit all of the capital cities a good transport for them would be a car hire that they could pick at one destination and drop off at another. This would be convenient as they might want to stay at a hotel in London or go to a different type of accommodation outside the cities, meaning they could go when and where they like in their own time with an enjoyable time viewing the UK’s capital cities. When using a car hire the accessibility varies, due to different companies having different qualities.
Customer Services and Language Barrier:
Good customer service could be hiring a translator to meet them at the airport to go round with them to all of the capital cities. This could also be using public transport and getting on a tour bus that goes round the capital cities one at a time telling you about the city and the history. Good customer service for the couple would be to make sure that they understand all their options, services if hiring a car or getting a bus and what people are saying as there might be a language barrier as it isn’t their mother tongue that they are speaking. Although there might be a language a barrier this doesn’t mean that it is a big problem as they can hire a translator to help them understand and then that would help the customers to not feeling so restricted.
Value for Money:
Value for money is important as the Chinese culture is polite, respectful and used to high standards and good value for money. As the Chinese culture is so pure when it comes to accommodation they expect good customer services and good value for money.
Activities:
For a couple visiting from china there are many activities that they experience. There are activities such as canoeing in the river Adur to shopping in London. There are a range of different activities with a good value for money. There are activities that you have to pay for example going to
