Research has proven that young women who become pregnant between the ages 18 and 19 rarely finish college. I was nineteen and just starting my second year of college when I found out that I was pregnant. If someone would have told me that I was going to have a baby before I turned twenty I never would have believed him or her, but when the volunteer at the pregnancy resource center came back into the room and said “Your results came back positive” my whole life had changed within an hour. I knew then that I had to grow up extremely fast if I wanted to my child to have a better life than I had. The person that I was before my daughter was different in relation to motivation, values and my goals in life. Before, I had my daughter I did not plan on having children until I was in my late 20’s or early 30’s, It came to me as surprise when I found out I was pregnant. Being in school was not my top priority, and I didn’t really have any set goals that I wanted to achieve in college. I lacked motivation because I thought I had plenty of time to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Now that I had my daughter I want to make sure I am able to give her more than just the best. I know now that having an education in this world we are living in is the key thing I need to insure a better future for her. My little girl is my motivation I go through everything I have to go to in order to keep a smile on her face. My values in life consisted of adventure and the need of being young. I enjoyed living life on edge and
