The Battle of the Little Bighorn, fought on June 25, 1876, by the Little Bighorn River in Montana, federal troops led by Colonel George Armstrong Custer against a group of Lakota Sioux and Cheyenne warriors. Anger between the two groups had been rising since the discovery of gold on the great plains. after several tribes missed their deadline on moving to the reservation the U.S army was sent to confront them.
