Animal Testing or Animal Wasting? Every year, more than 100 million animals are killed in U.S. laboratories for medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. Living, breathing creatures are being tortured, starved, and violated for human benefit. The animals are deprived of everything natural in its’ life. Animal testing should not be allowed because it is cruel and inhumane, does not faithfully translate to humans, and it violates animals’ rights. Animal testing is cruel and inhumane. It takes away the animals lives, and its freedom or choice in what happens to them. According to “Should Animals Be Used for Scientific or Commercial Testing?”, it says “Animals used in experiments are commonly subjected to force-feeding, forced inhalation, food and water deprivation, inflictions of burns, and many more brutal events.” Animals are being tortured not for their own benefit, but for humans. This shouldn’t be allowed because humans should be tested on if the results are specifically for humans, and not for lower species of animals. …show more content…
According to CBS News article “Animal Experimentation up 73 percent, study says”, “Despite new research technology evidence that animal experiments often don’t faithfully translate to humans, and the fact that a growing majority of the public opposes experiments on animals, laboratories are abusing more animals than ever before.” Laboratories experiment on animals, but on most occasions, the results don’t relate to humans whatsoever. Animals are different from humans in many ways, so testing on specific animals such as mice, dogs, or rabbits, won’t solve humans problems 100% of the time. Animals have rights, just like
