Grapes of Wrath is a very unique story that show many themes throughout the entire story. It shows hardship, family, friends, hard work, poverty and many more. The themes that stood out the most to me were poverty and teamwork. These were present through the entire story and have a very strong message. This story is about a family who is living in the east coast that take a long journey to the California in the west coast. They experience many troubles throughout the storyline that need everyone to work together to help because the money isn’t present. From the beginning Joad is reunited with Casy, a former preacher, and they work together to find Joads family. When they reach Joads family, Ma and Pa are surprised that Joad has not escaped from jail. After a little bit of planning and dreaming everyone packed up and they head to California in hope of a better life. There were a few reason why the family moved, they needed work which Califonia advertised through mail to people encouraging them to work in the orchards. This would provide them with enough money to buy food, clothing, everyday necessities. Another reason to leave was to escape the dust bowl.
