The short stories “Araby” and “A&P” are very similar stories each narrated young lads overcome by lust and desiring the attention of two young ladies. In “Araby” the boy falls head over heels for his friend Mangan’s sister while the other boy “A&P” obsesses over an attractive girl in a bikini that visits his supermarket. Aside from the small differences both boy’s fascinations and attempts to impress are very similar. After reading each story the girls described in each story stand out.
