Athens and Han China’s society, government, and personal lives where all shaped by these places geography. Athens was a small, mountainous, coastal city and Han China was a Large, flat, mostly land locked empire. These differences shaped how these civilizations evolved. Athens was a small city state apart of modern day Greece. It was a small city with a very small population. Athens had a big advantage though; it had a large coastline that allowed it to trade with other civilizations and cities. This advantage gave Athenians the ability to gain thoughts and goods from civilizations from the Mediterranean and beyond. Han China was a large empire with many rivers. Its large size made it so Han China could be mostly self-reliant. Rivers made
